The National Federation of Democratic Women is pleased to announce the formation of the National Federation of Democratic Women Political Action Committee (NFDW PAC). This new PAC has been established to provide financial support for Democratic women, Democratic candidates and other Democratic committees nationwide. The NFDW PAC is registered with and files periodic reports with the Federal Election Commission and may also register, as necessary, in different states. The NFDW PAC may accept contributions from individuals up to $5,000, in the aggregate, per calendar year. The NFDW PAC will be able to contribute up to $1,000 per election to a candidate for federal office. Once the committee has been in existence for six months, collected contributions from at least 51 individuals and made contributions to five federal candidates, the PACs contribution limit will increase to $5,000 per election to a federal candidate. Contributions to NFDW PAC are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. The NFDW PAC also intends to support candidates for state and local offices. The ability of the NFDW PAC o contribute to such candidates will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on whether the applicable state or local laws permit such contributions by NFDW PAC.
