National Federation of Democratic Women Celebrates its 55th Anniversary

The National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) held its 55th Anniversary Convention June 3–6, 2026, at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year’s theme, “The Past, Present, and Future,” highlights women’s leadership in the Democratic National Committee’s 50-State Partnership to organize, strategize, and mobilize women nationwide. DNC Chairman Ken Martin delivered the “State of the Union” address focused on strengthening the voice of Democratic women, protecting voting rights and core democratic principles, and confronting voter suppression.

NFDW President Lovie West of Mississippi said that in this year’s election, “we will leave no voters behind. In rural, urban, and suburban communities—red, purple, or blue—every vote matters, and women’s leadership will be critical to Democratic success.” The convention brought together Democratic state and local political and labor leaders, along with NFDW members from thirty-three state federations, to advance strategies that empower Democratic women nationwide.

Convention highlights included the Young Women Leaders Cohort Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and the presentation of the NFDW Medal of Freedom Award to an outstanding Nevada community leader. With dynamic speakers, inspiring workshops, strategic sessions, and celebrations of the organization’s past, present, and future, the 55th Annual Convention amplified women’s voices and strengthened their impact on elections and communities across the country.

The 2026 Convention united Democratic women from across the country to build power, align around shared ideas, and help shape the future of leadership. The 55th Anniversary Convention reinforced a clear message: “When women lead, Democrats win.
