The 2025 Fall Western Regional Meeting of the National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) brought Democratic women from across the region together to exchange ideas, build connections, and reinforce our shared commitment to progress. Centered on the theme “Standing Together for Justice,” the gathering underscored the power of unity as we prepare to face the challenges and seize the opportunities that lie ahead.
Past Regional Meetings
The 2025 Fall Western Regional Meeting of the National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) was an opportunity for Democratic women across the region to come together, share insights, and strengthen our movement. The theme, “Standing Together for Justice”, was significant as we prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
The 2025 Western Regional Meeting of the National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) brought together Democratic women from across the Western United States to engage in discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities aimed at strengthening the Democratic Party and empowering women in politics.
The 2024 Southern Regional Meeting of the National Federation of Democratic Women embraced the forward-looking theme, “What’s Next.” Held with energy and purpose, the event brought together Democratic women from across the Southern Region to reflect, reimagine, and prepare for the future. Through powerful conversations, attendees explored emerging challenges and opportunities while building momentum for the work ahead.
The 2024 Western Regional Meeting of the National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) brought together Democratic women leaders, advocates, and organizers for a day of inspiration, strategy, and collaboration. The event focused on empowering women in politics and strengthening Democratic efforts ahead of the 2024 elections through impactful speakers, and meaningful networking opportunities.
The National Federation of Democratic Women’s Southern Region came together under the heartfelt theme, “We Are Family.” The gathering fostered genuine camaraderie among Southern Democratic women, deepening bonds across chapters and empowering members to unite in purpose. With open discussions, and moments of reflection, attendees reinforced that, beyond political action, the Southern NFDW is a supportive community rooted in shared values.
The Mississippi Federation of Democratic Women hosted the Southern Regional Meeting, bringing together women leaders and activists from across the region. The event featured keynote speaker Bennie Thompson, who shared powerful insights on advancing democratic values and promoting equality. Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions and networking, strengthening their commitment to civic participation and community empowerment.
The 2022 NFDW Western Regional Meeting was held on October 1, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, hosted by the Nevada Federation of Democratic Women. Featuring remarks from Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, the meeting brought together Democratic women under the theme “Bringing Voices Together: Creating a Coalition for Change” to strengthen coalitions and prepare for the work ahead. It also focused on uniting diverse perspectives to advance progressive values and expand representation.
The 2022 NFDW Southern Regional Meeting was held February 18–19 in Charleston, South Carolina, hosted by the South Carolina Democratic Women’s Council. Offered in a hybrid format with both in-person and Zoom attendance, the event featured powerful speakers including Christine Pelosi, Shaundra Scott of Voter Protection NC, and DNC Committeewoman Virgie Rollins. The meeting provided an opportunity for Democratic women across the South to connect, share strategies, and strengthen their collective commitment to protecting voting rights and advancing Democratic values.
The 2022 NFDW Western Regional Meeting was held virtually on Saturday, February 12, bringing together members from across the region for a day of inspiration and engagement. Hosted jointly by the Washington Federation of Democratic Women and the Women’s Caucus of the California Democratic Party, the meeting featured keynote speaker Michele Bratcher Goodwin, Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine. Centered on the theme “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” the event highlighted the urgent need to advance women’s rights and equity as part of building a stronger, more just future.
The 2021 NFDW Eastern Regional Meeting was held virtually on December 10, 2021, bringing together members from across the region to connect, share ideas, and strengthen collaboration. Hosted via Zoom, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss priorities, highlight ongoing initiatives, and inspire collective action heading into the new year.
The 2021 NFDW Midwestern Regional Meeting was held virtually on November 16, 2021, bringing Democratic women together from across the region. Meeting via Zoom allowed members to connect, exchange updates, and discuss strategies to advance shared priorities. The gathering emphasized collaboration and continued engagement as the Federation prepared for the year ahead.
The 2021 NFDW Western Regional Meeting was held virtually on January 31, 2021, providing an opportunity for Democratic women across the region to come together despite the challenges of the pandemic. Meeting via Zoom, participants shared ideas, strengthened connections, and built momentum for advancing Democratic values in their states and communities.
The 2020 NFDW Southern Regional Meeting was held virtually on November 14, 2020, hosted by the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida. With the theme “Democratic Women: Individually Strong & Collectively Powerful,” the meeting highlighted the resilience and leadership of Democratic women during a pivotal election year. Despite gathering online, members from across the Southern states came together to strategize, share experiences, and strengthen their collective voice in advancing progressive values.
The 2020 NFDW Eastern Regional Meeting was held virtually on October 3, 2020, bringing together members from across the region for an engaging program. Featured speakers included Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2nd District), who shared insights on federal legislative priorities; Cindy Otis, former CIA analyst and author, who addressed disinformation and security challenges; and Alexa Grant of Common Cause Pennsylvania, who spoke about voting rights and election protection. Despite being held via Zoom, the meeting provided an important opportunity for Democratic women to connect, learn, and strengthen their advocacy efforts during a critical election year.
The 2020 NFDW Western Regional Meeting was held on February 8, 2020, at the Tropicana in Las Vegas, Nevada. With the theme “Empowering Women: Stand Up, Speak Up, and Show Up,” the event energized Democratic women from across the Western states to take action in their communities and beyond. The meeting featured dynamic guest speakers, including Christine Pelosi and Congresswoman Dina Titus, who inspired attendees with messages on leadership, civic engagement, and the importance of amplifying women’s voices in politics. It was a powerful gathering that reinforced the Federation’s commitment to building strength through unity and action.

The meeting was held in Portland, Oregon on April 27, 2019, and hosted by the Oregon Federation of Democratic Women.
