NFDW: Standing by POLICIES for the Installation ofArizona’s Newly Elected U.S. Rep. Adelita Grijalva
It is time to swear in newly elected U.S. Representative Adelita Grijalva – the people’s choice – Arizona’s choice – for representation in the United States House of Representatives. Rep.-elect Grijalva won a special election on September 23, 2025. Usually, lawmakers who win special elections take the oath on days when legislative business is conducted. But an oath ceremony was not scheduled before the government shutdown on October 1, 2025.
The National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) is a women organization consisting of 35 member states including the state of Arizona. NFDW President Lovie West stated, “NFDW encourages Democratic women to run for office and when women win…the policies that apply to the prompt installation of men into their political roles should apply to women as well.”
NFDW stands by fair and consistent policies that will lead to Rep.-elect Grijalva taking her rightful place as a member of the country’s highest legislative branch.
